OMSI Coastal Discovery Center
The new OMSI Coastal Discovery Center at Camp Gray is a 20-acre outdoor education science camp serving up to 150 children and families at a time. Programming includes
year-round outdoor education experiences in the rich learning environment of Oregon’s Central Coast. The single-story cluster of long gabled wood buildings is inspired by the longhouse traditions of coastal native american tribes as well as early Oregon logging camps. Located near the ocean in the South Beach area of Newport, we have paid particular attention to durable materials which will withstand the weather extremes and the ravages of salt and sand. Designed in collaboration with Siegel and Strain and Walker Macy Landscape Architects.
